There is also a regular bus transfer direct from Alicante airport to the main bus station in Torrevieja that costs ~€9pp. These run regularly with the last bus from the airport around 10pm. It is possible to walk from the bus station, but if you have cases we recommend a taxi which will be <€10.  Airport bus timetable

Car

There are numerous car hire comparison sites offering competitive rates. Please note that during summer & Easter these can book up early. We are approximately a 30 minute drive from both Alicante airport & slightly further from the new Murcia airport.

There is ample free parking on the roads outside the apartment. Please respect our neighbours & if possible park to the side (on Calle Placido Domingo).

Cycling

There are excellent cycling routes, dedicated cycle paths & a variety of off-road trails all within 500m of the apartment. All types of bikes can be hired locally from electric to top-end road & mountain bikes.

We have at least one adult bike at each apartment which are ideal for exploring the local area.

There is a bicycle workshop at the local supermarket Carrefour – just in case you get a puncture & are not confident repairing it yourself.  Go to the information desk (with your tyre or bike), to the left hand side as you walk inside the entrance, they will give you some paperwork to take to the bike workshop with you.   Once you have this go to the Bike Workshop in store & get your puncture repaired, they can often do the repair straight away & it’s the cost of an inner tube & a couple of euros.

Taxi

Taxi’s can be called locally. They are limited to a maximum fee of €10 within the town zone which operates to the edge of La Mata lake, well passed the apartment.

Trains

There are good train links along the coast from south west of Murcia/Mar Menor through Alicante, Benidorm & north east beyond Valencia.

There is a small road train between the fountains in the town centre to La Mata beach & back operating throughout the day.

Walking

There are a variety of shops, bars, cafes, restaurants & supermarkets within a 10 minute walk.

La Mata nature park, lake & walking trails are a 15 minute walk across the farm land to the left of the auditorium. Similarly, the unique Laguna Rosa is a 20 minute walk in the opposite direction & is an incredible sight particular at the water’s edge where the salt gathers.

Torrevieja fountains – the centre of town by the harbour – are a 25 minute walk via Carrefour/Habaneras. Alternatively join the ‘Yellow Brick Road’ that runs alongside the pink salt lake to the coast, turn left at the coast to enjoy a walk along the harbour to the beach front in town.
